INTERNATIONAL NEWS
First Article - Opposition takes over in Kyrgyzstan
- An opposition coalition in Kyrgyzstan proclaimed an interim government in the wake of clashes that left dozens dead nationwide, and said it would rule for six months before calling new elections.
Comment -
The happenings in this article is somewhat similar to the current riots in Thailand and shows how the chaotic a nation can become if peace is not maintained. Hopefully they can reach a peaceful conclusion soon and avoid further deaths in this violent unrest.
Second Article - Nuclear Summit in Washington
- A Nuclear Summit in Washington for all nations involved in Nuclear Arms to try to cut down on their limit of nuclear weapons.
Comment -
We hope that the nations involved in this Nuclear Summit would eventually reach Nuclear Disarment as the issues of nuclear weapons and the possibility of war is very high due to this topic. Issues on nuclear energy and weapons always causes tensions to arise between different nations and ties are deeply affected economically and politically.
Third Article - Plane crash that killed Poland President Lech Kaczynski and other top leaders.
- Polish President Lech Kaczynski and other top leaders were killed in a plane crash in an area in Russia, where Poland's elite were massacred during World War 2, which may affect Poland-Russia ties.
Comment -
This event affected Poland deeply emotionally and we hope that the people would stay strong as in such a crisis chaos can happen anytime, as all their leaders are gone. Even though this incident reminds the people of what happened during World War 2, we hope that the ties between Poland and Russia would not be greatly affected.
